A Beginning of something New...

Yes, its in the air, it surrounds me & I'm full of it. I'm not talking about 'Love' dumbo, I'm talking about 'Happiness'.

The past few days have been mesmerizing for me, it all came unexpected as if I'm still dreaming. I suspect if i've finally found a way to bond with people over these past days?

Okay enough with flatter, getting to the point. I've recently made some friends and meeting them has changed the very definition of 'friendship' for me. Is it just the adrenaline rush that you get when seeing new faces or is it lack of having good friends in my life?

'the question keeps coming back to me'.

The future of Linux Desktop will be Android

Linux is a weird hodgepodge of mature parts and immature parts. The stuff that IT guys need (IE, apache, samba, NFS, etc) are really mature, and rock solid. But things (apps, services, etc) that don't really make computer professionals lives better, are often a labor of love of someone on slow weekends, and are not really fully baked.

I've been using Linux on my desktop since 2011. I still have a love/hate relationship with it. There are certain things that are great, and then something seemingly simple will be all hosed up, and require significant googling and command line work to resolve.

Kindness costs Nothing

Our current society values education so much. We can learn anything we can possibly imagine through books, newspapers, and the internet. We can communicate with people all over the world with the click of a button. Babies know when you are upset and try to make you smile.

While there are people starving, there are billions of people helping others every day, by volunteering or donating money or simply being kind to their struggling family members and neighbours. We are all just trying our best. It doesn't cost anything to be kind.

Humans still use rags

We've been to the moon and back, sent countless satellites to other planets, one satellite into interstellar space, we've made lasers powerful enough to take down aircrafts, we've made a vast network of information that spans the entire planet Earth which connects nearly every single person on the planet... yet we still use rags to dry ourselves. Touche ?

Limitations of Science

Limitations of Science
Credit: Google Images
Science explains how things work, but not why they work the way they do.

I do not adhere to any specific religion, but I do vaguely believe there is a higher power that determined at least the rudimentary building blocks of the universe, from which we deduced what we could do with them. All science does is observe the property of things and manipulate those properties to the advantage of humanity, but it still fails to explain why those properties are the way they are.

How to Configure TL-WR740N / TL-WR740ND Wireless router to use Google Public DNS

Earlier today I had problem configuring my wireless router to access google's public dns servers. Honestly I couldn't find any tutorials or Instructions specific to my router model so had to learn it the hard way, put decent amount of time too.

So I figured I'd write a piece so that others may save their time hunting. Its fairly simple, just follow the Instructions step by step. Here we go..

Using Google's Public DNS over ISP DNS

Using Google's Public DNS over ISP DNS
I turned down my ISP's dns for google's public dns because it is easier to remember 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. My ISP hosts their DNS in Hyderabad, its not far persay. But the reason to change my dns is for security reasons. However, I've seen slight improvement in speed after flushing my previous dns cache.

No Corporation is Good or Evil

The idea that corporations are somehow isolated from morality is an awful poison in our contextualization of corporations. By definition ( profound immorality, wickedness, and depravity ) no company is evil on face value. Greedy.. yes, most if not all of them, and with good reason and probably the best intentions, dishonest, deceitful and untrustworthy almost all of them as well, maybe save a few mom and pop stores, but still, not inherently evil.

But by pure definition any house of ill repute, or that provide hit men would fall under the "evil" category if morality was taken as defined by most holy churches, as well as many religious organisations who define what morality is and is not, could therefore easily be defined as an "evil organisation".

Companies like Google, and Apple , that knowingly and openly admit to gathering your private data for statistical and behavioral analysis is not inherently evil, but the services they provide once again may very well be, to google for porn, is by definition evil, if that's you morality, if not, then well, nobody is evil, and you are OK.

Dragon Ball Z : Battle of the Gods Movie Review

Akira Toriyama seems to be Rebooting DBZ but not in the same way Marvel and DC Comics do theirs. I was excited about this movie. But, Goku's voice was a disappointment. Then while fighting his screams and grunt sound deep and intense, without being grating, and his kamehameha’s are the best they’ve ever been. Christopher Sabat likewise does a great job of playing Vegeta, Piccolo, Shenron, (and thousands of other characters).
Battle of Gods is as much about Vegeta’s character arc and growth as a man, as it is about GokÅ« becoming a Super Saiyan God. Chris’s nervous portrayal of Vegeta trying to keep Lord Beerus calm so he doesn't destroy the earth is serious yet comical. You get the feeling that Vegeta is swallowing his pride and doing everything he can to save the earth.

And then on the flip side you get to see him scream with rage and kick some ass when Lord Beerus slaps Bulma. There are a few characters I don’t like the sound of, such as Pilaf’s (by Chuck Huber), but that’s always been my opinion. And as far as acting goes, all of the cast do a great job and it’s clear they’re professionals.

"That Couldn't Be Done"

"That Couldn't Be Done"
Somebody said that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That maybe it couldn’t But he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldnt be done, and he did it

Somebody scoffed oh you’ll never do that At least no one ever has done it But he took off his coat and he took off his hat And the first thing we knew he’d begun it. With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin Without any doubting or quitit He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it

There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done There are thousands to prophesize failure, There are thousands to point out to you One by one The dangers that wait to assail you But just buckle in with a bit of a grin Just take off your coat and go to it Just start to sing as you tackle the thing That cannot be done and you’ll do it.

Everyday Linux

Everyday Linux
Image for Funny Illustration.
Linux is generally superior to Windows in terms of programming, general computing, designing any sort of software, security, etc. If you want to learn about computers, you use Linux or BSD.

However, Windows 7 is by far the best OS for playing 3D games and watching videos. There's no questioning that.

What I do, and what I suspect most people do, is run Windows 8 as my main OS and dual boot all my Linux distributions. If I want to play a game, you just boot into Win8 and go do whatever you want. If you need to do something in Linux, you bring it up. Switching between them takes less than a minute. It's great.

Stereotypes Exist for a Reason

Stereotypes Exist for a Reason
The human brain is great at examining data and finding patterns. Where we see actions correlated with a certain skin color, we see a trend.

However, it is important to note that all traits are inherited independently. Skin color has no effect on one's intelligence or physical prowess, or personality. This is a misunderstanding of correlation vs. causation.

People should stop taking Ind vs Pak World Cup matches seriously

After every Cricket world cup, And looking at the fact that India won 6 times in a row; India vs Pakistan flames & abuses continue to border year after year on social platforms.

When will we a stop to it ?

I believe I've heard people saying India vs Pakistan matches are something to be celebrated together, sure yes we do, but once the winner is decided people on either side start off justifying their country.

It's safe to say we still fight over everything. Our countries, people of our countries will never tire of this abuse, they will hate each other & justify their saying no matter what you/I think ?

This is reason why I never watch Cricket or participate in before/after match discussions. You don't have friendlies in sports mate.

Fact about Neutron Star

Neutron stars are mind-boggling. Small in size, but their density (and so their mass and thus gravity) is amazing. All of the atoms have been squashed together so tightly that a teaspoon would weigh 100 million tons. Neutron stars are only a few kilometers wide, but have more mass than the sun.

They also rotate very rapidly, especially pulsars. The fastest-spinning pulsar known spins every 1.39 milliseconds, or 716 times per second, or approximately 43,000 revolutions per minute. This means that at its equator it is spinning at approximately 24% of the speed of light, or over 70,000 km per second. This also means that the star is not perfectly round, but quite flattened.

Facebook blocks users for using fake names

"Completely autonomous algorithm which polices over a billion and a half user accounts from the entire planet every day flags odd names that people have used as mockery in the past. Facebook employees follow their internal protocol since names are more likely to be abused as a joke than an actual real name" - Source

There, that should be the name of the article. But sure, Facebook's a big corp, let's just f**king bash them because it's clearly something that is run by two dudes from their basement who really just need a little perspective. I mean, come on.

Elementary OS for profit not Open Source Project

Elementary is looking to raise more money by actually making users pay little for their efforts like as in for 'Pantheon' which is a rip off of an open source OS based on another Open Source OS.

I feel like this might be the writing on the wall for the elementary OS product. All of the goodwill that they have developed in the community is starting to fade away. Pantheon is really slick, and it will probably live on in one form or another, but this could be the beginning of the end for elementary OS.

Jumping onto Conclusions

I have something that most people suffer from, I tend to jump onto conclusions instantly if not in a very short time. If someone smiles at me, I tend to think they like me, If someone scolds me I tend to think they are sad because of me. This jumping the gun kind of Instance is very frustrating and I'm not liking it lately.

This never bothered me much before but now it is. Hope someday this will change.

India has Audience for Everyone, even All India Bakchod !

India has Audience for Everyone, even All India Bakchod !
People, movie directors, authors & photographers. Everyone is looking for an audience to grow themselves and make some profit off it. Recently, my new found love 'All India Bakchod' has garnered my Interest in Comedy.

Dekhta tha comedy ek zamane mein before Kapil sharma came up with Comedy Nights. Uske comedy lines and acts were not that Interesting, sort to say there is no spice in his acts. But AIB (short for all India Bakchod) has something different.

There words are filled with Adult, PG13, R-Rated stuff that makes even the awkward look like comedy piece. They are able to remove that awkwardness that we have when speak about it.

Cyanogen to build their own Android OS with help from Microsoft

Cyanogen to build their own Android OS with help from Microsoft
I'd like to see Cyanogen succeed because the more competition there is in the smartphone market, the more companies will be pressured to develop new, useful features.

I bought my first smartphone last year. It's an Asus Zenfone. It works great, despite some quirks. I felt like with the Zenfone, the smartphone was beginning to take a quantum leap forward in features. Phones are getting a bit more memory, somewhat faster CPUs, a bit better screens, and improved cameras but you would expect all of these things. In terms of new and interesting features, it seems like we're in a mature market where we've all decided upon what it means for a device to be a smartphone.

Reasons For Android Lags

Few things that make Android Laggy
Firstly the 30hz touchscreen drivers and screen update rates are still the norm. 1/30th of a second is long enough to be perceptible as "lag", and when you factor triple-buffering into the equation, the lag is more like 1/15 second.

Not to mention the resolution and color depths of high-end Android phones have completely outstripped the dumb-frame buffer 3Dfx-heritage architecture behind most current hardware. Most video chipsets were optimized for 16-bit color at 1280x800 (more or less), but some high-end Android phones now ship with 2560x1600 displays running at 24-bit color and can barely sustain 30fps, let alone 60fps or faster.

Facebook's Privacy Update Scared me to Delete my Account Forever

Pic for reference: Kanthala Raghu
Facebook has become a nightmare for people like me. Its the reason I'm deleting my account forever ..(not deactivating)

Here'e a link from /r/technology that enlightened me on facebook's latest privacy policy changes (Updated: 30 Jan 2015). Believe me its scary after knowing all that I couldn't stay still or calm.

Here's a link to article explaining how to delete you account forever (I'm not talking about deactivating)

Coming to the Question: Will you delete your account after reading the article ? Are you still okay with giving facebook more information about you ?

Remember that Movie 'EagleEye' starring Shia Labeouf ? Well looks like Facebook has inherited its position. Pretty scary I say. Your Choice Affects you, I'm just Spreading something good for your privacy (perhaps your future too).

Apple & Samsung Claim to have sold 70 Million Products making a Tie

Apple & Samsung Claim to have sold 70 Million Products making a Tie
Image for Reference Purpose
70 Million are the estimates that both the companies Claim. However Apple's figures are more consistent cause they provide data collected from the Sales. Whereas Samsung hasn't presented any figures and their sales may or may not be in tie with Apple. That' calls up for a debate, which one do you think had more sales 'Apple' or 'Samsung' ?

Caution: More Reports of Swine Flu Reported

There's an on going major havoc of swine flu all across India right now. The current rate of spread is estimated as 30 people/Week. (Reports from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana only).

In shopping malls, or crowded places wherever you are; Take caution, wear your masks at all time (when you're outside). People are taking this for granted and look what happened to Former Rajasthan Chief Minister (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DO6yS3t6eQk).

This message in posted in Public Interest, feel free to share or write it down in your words and send it to your friends.

Looking back in the Past

Surprisingly today I stumbled on a piece of writing that I Published on on Jul 2014. I feel stupid in a way to have jumped the gun.. so its titled ...

"Not Being in a Relationship"

"Based upon what I've seen from my friends and the statistics regarding marriage, it seems almost pointless to be in a relationship. Granted, the majority of people who are in them are only in it for sexual pleasure, but other than that, it's a waste of time.
Why would I ever want to invest in something that I'm not 100% will work out in the end, not to mention becoming emotionally compromised if a break-up were to occur. It's kind of sad and pathetic that so many people keep choosing to enter relationships with the hopeful intent that they can relate to someone on a sexual level. I may never have been in a relationship nor plan to be in one, but maybe it's just my destiny not to be in one. I'm going to save a lot of time and money by not being in one."

I'm betting on our better future, many thanks to Gates Foundation.
