According to a Business Insider review, the Essential Phone is a "superb device." The phone is the first product from Andy Rubin's Essential. Rubin is considered the "father of Android" and with the Essential phone he's trying to create a new alternative in the smartphone market.

The phone has square edges, a ceramic backing, and a titanium frame, making it heavier than the Apple iPhone 7 or the Samsung Galaxy S8, but the weight also makes the device feel more substantial. While it may look like a luxurious item, the Essential Phone is meant for everyday use and it doesn't cost more than other premium phones on the market.
