Probably the best Netflix Original film, at least from the ones I've seen. The pacing and plot elements were actually pretty good it's just that the execution lacked that little extra., and the VFX was quite good for the budget restraints.
Guess that just goes to show how important script and a good director really is.
The movie had a ton of clichés but you can't expect smart movies... but overall I was satisfied with it, I don't understand why Universal didn't sent it to the theaters. But hey, Netflix has its first own AAA-class movie, that's something! I hope they will make more similar movies.
If i had to criticize the film then it would be the motion of the plot with a lot of heavily borrowed elements from other media, and the leap of faith the film requires for you to believe that the main character has the ability to just rustle up a few dozen experimental guns from scavenged parts all in a few hours.
The whole 'let's create an advanced arsenal out of scrap' took me out of it a bit, but the visuals in the ending scene made up for it. Overall the movie is quite enjoyable...
One word ? : Best SciFi movie to get my heart beating in while.
