We still laugh over this Compliment

I wouldn't call it the best, but it was definitely the strangest/most hysterical. My close buddy has a girlfriend who is notorious for being jealous of girls at college and the possibility that they are flirting with him. He told me he was so frustrated about it that he once said "Well, why do you never get jealous about me hanging out with xyz (made up)?"

She laughed and replied: "Seriously? xyz is too smart for you, you wouldn't have a chance. She's way out of your league." Him and I still go to pieces laughing about it. He said: "I still don't know if that's a huge compliment for you, a giant insult for me, or both." :)
