You never
know, one act of kindness could change a persons life, and that could
have a profound ripple effect within the people that are in their
circle.
However, it may not reach out if it and continue going, but it doesn't have to, there is a song by Roger Waters, the chorus has a line I've always appreciated. "Each small candle, lights a corner of the dark".
That light is like the act of kindest, it may not light up a whole room, but that corner can brighten up a corner of a room large enough to be seen by others. Your one act can mean world to someone, they can in turn light others with their fire you helped rekindle. They may keep it to themselves and let it burn out, but if they keep the fire going, "carrying the fire inside" like the book The Road speaks of, they can then spread it further and look for who also is carrying the light.
Further still the more people we rekindle by simple acts of kindness, the more fires burn in each little corner, and before you know it the whole room is lit and we are all no longer groping in the darkness trying to find the light, it's all around us.
