Government proposes to remove Article 370, bifurcate Jammu & Kashmir state

Home Minister Amit Shah announced in parliament this morning that Article 370, that confers special status to Jammu and Kashmir, will be removed. The announcement came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting of his cabinet at his house this morning. Amit Shah also added that Jammu and Kashmir will be "reorganised" by bifurcating the state.
