If you're a prospective buyer, you're likely wondering if Amazon Prime Day is worth it. I'd say Yes. So I'll try to categorize the best deals I see (from numerous competing companies as well) during these 2 days. Also feel free to ask questions and I'll be as honest as I can with advice.
  • $200 - Acer Chromebook R11 - Typically $260. A lightweight 2 in 1 chromebook that works well with Android apps, for watching videos, or for light web browsing.
  • $269 - Acer Aspire 5 - Typically $330. A lightweight 15.6" laptop with moderate specs, a decent display, and decent battery. Be aware it's in Windows S mode but can be switched back to Windows 10 Home once for free.
  • $289 - Lenovo Ideapad S340 - Walmart. Another fairly light 15" with decent specs including an NVME SSD, 8GB of ram, and an 8th gen i3 processor.
  • $300 - Refurbished Thinkpad T440 - Office Depot. Although it's a 5 year old laptop, it's extremely well built and the specs inside are easily powerful enough for most usage today.
  • $430 - Acer Aspire 5 - Typically $509. A solid general-use laptop with good specs, a long battery life, sizeable PCIE SSD, and relatively low weight (for a 15"). Wouldn't expect great build quality but the specs are great for the price.
  • $450 - Lenovo Flex 14 - Typically $530. A moderately sized 2 in 1 with touch screen and Lenovo pen included.
  • $470 - Asus Vivobook 15 - Typically $550. A thin and light 15" with a decent AMD processor and iGPU but disappointing battery life.
  • $580 - Asus TUF Gaming - Typically $700 (but drops to $590). A fairly mediocre entry-level gaming laptop. It'd be fine for light/moderate gaming but I would suggest most people budget up slightly.
  • $900 - Asus ROG Strix - Walmart. Quite similar to the Predator Helios 300 but with a bit lower specs
  • $1000 - Acer Predator Helios 300 - Typically $1200. It's a gaming laptop with absolutely killer specs including a 144Hz display, GTX 1660Ti, and i7-9750H processor. Can be quite loud when running under load.
  • $1100 - Razer Blade 15 - Typically $1500. The Razer is known for its relative portability among gaming laptops. It has fairly thin bezels and weighs in just under 4.5 lbs. Be aware this is last year's model though. There's also the Zephyrus S on sale, but again it's last year's model. As with all thin-and-light gaming laptops, under load it can run hot or throttle.
  • $1300 - Acer Predator Helios 500 - Typically $1600. The Helios 500 is a larger 17" gaming laptop with an AMD Vega 56 dGPU (comparable to GTX 2060), and a 144Hz display.
